Thomasina in a word...
Thomasina is a Hometown Hero because...
Last December, co-workers Thomasina Kone and Genny Pagan were returning from their dinner break when they noticed a co-worker frantically waving her arms and pointing towards her throat.
Genny immediately recognized the woman was choking, but due to her small frame knew she would not be able to properly help the woman. Thomasina stepped forward and told the woman she was trained in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and was going to help her. She began abdominal thrusts to dislodge the object and after several attempts a piece of food was ejected from the woman’s mouth and she began to breathe normally again. Genny got the woman some water, kept the onlookers back and notified management to contact emergency assistance.
