Robin took advantage of a Red Cross class on choking offered through her employer, Sterling Jeweler. Her learned skills came into use when her 8-month-old daughter began to choke on a plastic toy the toddler had put in her mouth. Robin used the method she learned in her Red Cross class, and was able to get the plastic out of her daughter’s mouth so that the toddler could breathe again. Robin remained calm as her baby girl choked and was able to successfully perform her life-saving technique under great pressure.
