Leah Sicuro, age 11, demostrated the composure that is needed in an emergency to save her mother's life. Her mother was given the correct medication but the wrong dosage. To solve this problem the pharmacy told her to break the pills up then ingest them. The problem: the pills were time released and it caused a dangerous reaction. Leah remembered what she was taught in school and called 911, explained the situation calmly and did it again once the paramedics arrived. If it were not for her collectivity on that day her mother would not be here today.
