Kathy is a Hometown Hero because...
Kathy started in 2007 as a DAT team lead and Assistant East Valley Coordinator at the Red Cross. In that capacity she was very involved in not only responding, but also in training and organizing the East Valley DAT. Throughout the year she took on the East Valley Area Coordinator position. Kathy immediately brought needed leadership and organizational skills to the position.

Under her leadership the East Valley has significantly increased in numbers and quality of responders to Team Leads. Kathy made it her mission to increase the number of active team leads in the East Valley, and has done whatever necessary to identify potential candidates, recruit them to be team leads, train them and back them up during their first few months. Thanks to her impeccable persistence, for the first time in years, we now have more than 4 active team leads in the East Valley.
