With his dedication to Mass Care, Jerry has increased the number of trained Mass Care responders chapter wide. His innovative guidance has created a team that can respond to various service areas, reaching and helping a diverse populations with compassion. With his determination, expertise and positive attitude, Jerry has strengthened the team through training so it’s capable of responding to several shelter incidents at the same time, if needed.

Jerry worked with different resource areas to secure over 800 potential shelter sites for the chapter to use. He cultivated a relationship with members of a Southern Baptist church and finalized a deal that secures a large incident feeding kitchen. Jerry developed relationships with several county emergency managers who now participate in preparedness meetings. Jerry’s vision of the FAST team has expanded the reach of the program which encompasses nearly the entire state. This results in a quicker Red Cross response in times of major disaster. With his unparalleled insight and background, Jerry has coordinated mass care response for large scale drills.
