Frances Carolyn is a Hometown Hero because...
Frances Carolyn James is hometown hero because of her 20 years of continuous serve for her American Red Cross; for dedication and resourcefulness as State Nurse Liaison; and for 14 years as Disaster Health services Chair. She provided outstanding supervisory service during Hurricane Hugo and Hurricane Katrina in command position. Frances Carolyn James has given many hours to the service of the American Red Cross by using her personal resources and was instrumental in getting the volunteer nurses license passed by the South Carolina State legislature.

She has received the Clara Barotn Award twice for outstanding leadership. This vivacious, lovely, and spirited woman is often described as the unsinkable Molly Brown of the movie “Titanic”. Many thanks to Frances Carolyn James’ love and compassion for fellow human beings and her American Red Cross.
