Elsie is a Hometown Hero because...
Elsie Calamese has volunteered for the Firelands Red Cross for over 26 years and she didn't start until she retired at the age of 64! Elsie works at least one day each week at the chapter house handling Disaster records and she is on call for AFES calls.

Elsie has worked at disaster sites from tornadoes to hurricanes, floods and fires, and helped in New York after the 9/11 attacks.
