Barbara is a Hometown Hero because...She is an extraordinary person, whom the chapter staff and volunteers looks to for leadership. She ensures that we make the best of our resources. She always sees the positive in all things from volunteers to fund raising and she encourages the same in everyone around her. As a superior leader, Barbara never takes credit for the tremendous amount of work she accomplishes and is always willing to help those she works with and who work for her.

The scope of her achievements is not limited to her volunteer position as Board of Directors Secretary. Barbara thrives on solving problems and probing possibilities. She can easily focus her attention to new challenges and is not afraid of change, which gives us great support during the array of changes Red Cross has and is undergoing. Unfailingly patient and professional, supportive and understanding, she's able to see the good in everyone, and inspires us to be our better selves.
